Huichol Indian Yarn Painting – 24″ x 24″

$350.00

This Huichol yarn painting done by Olegaria de la Cruz has some prominent symbols in each of the four quadrants.  There are eagles in each of the corners and then in the four quadrants there is the blue deer on the left, serpents coming out of the sky at the top, a shaman with his prayer stick on the right, an offering bowl with corn, prayer candle and prayer arrow in it at the bottom and the peyote in the very middle of all that.  Very dynamic piece.

Originally intended as ceremonial offerings to insure a bountiful harvest, HUICHOL YARN ART PAINTINGS are not only beautiful works of art, but continue today as a testament to the Huichol (pronounced Wee-chol) people’s culture. Learn more about the Huichol Indians
